Sašo Matas is Director General of the Directorate for Public Procurement at the Ministry of Public Administration of the Republic of Slovenia.
In this role, he is responsible for drafting legislation on public procurement and for ensuring that national legislation is aligned with that of the European Union.
He is also active in academia as a PhD student at the University of Maribor.
His research work includes topics such as the balance between sustainability and competition objectives in public procurement.
Sašo Matas is also a lecturer at the Administrative Academy, where he runs programmes related to public procurement, including e-procurement and the use of IT tools.
As part of his work at the Directorate for Public Procurement, he participated in the presentation of the e-Audit system at the meeting of the Public Procurement Council Working Group.
